Description

Experience in a dental office performing chairside dental assisting, laboratory procedures, office procedures, and dental radiography. A classroom seminar for group discussion is included. All students enrolled in ADED 196C will be charged a clinical surcharge per semester.

Prerequisites

Students are required to pass prerequisite courses with a grade of C or higher. Exceptions apply; please consult your department chair.

 

Up-to-date CPR and clinical clearance with current health and liability insurance, passing grade on DANB Radiation Health and Safety Exam by March 1st
 

Student Learning Outcomes
  1. Demonstrate the ability to perform the advanced skills that can be delegated to dental assistants graduating from CODA accredited programs.
  2. Identify and fulfill the duties of a graduate dental assistant in a general practice.
  3. Describe and participate in the duties of the front desk staff.
  4. Maintain the chain of asepsis critical to working as a dental professional.
  5. Maintain a professional demeanor on and off the job.
