Packet transmission subtopics include local area networks, hardware addressing, LAN building blocks, and wide area networks. internetworking subtopics include TCP/IP communication stack, ISO 7-layer communication stack, network addressing, internet protocol, address resolution protocol, internet control message protocol, IP routing protocols, transport control protocol, user datagram protocol, and client-server API.
