Description
An introduction to the nomenclature, structure, and reactions of organic compounds.
Prerequisites
Students are required to pass prerequisite courses with a grade of C or higher. Exceptions apply; please consult your department chair.
- Students must take either CHEM104C or CHEM105C.
Upon completion of this course, students will:
- Apply the scientific method.
- Explain the principles of organic nomenclature, chemical bonding, reactions, and stereoisomerism.
- Describe the properties and naming of functional groups.
- Demonstrate proper laboratory techniques and skills.
