Through interactive discussions, guest speakers, case studies, clinical site visits and hands-on activities, this course introduces students to the diverse and growing field of health and medical sciences offered at NHTI, the foundations of college success, and to the academic environment and community of NHTI. Students will explore the roles and responsibilities of healthcare professionals, the skills required for success, and the educational pathways needed to enter each field. Emphasis is placed on discovery of health careers, cultural competency, communication, and teamwork within medical environments.

career in the health sector - Analyze a literary work within their specific career and cultural context

- Students see themselves as participants in a particular career culture
