New Hampshire History

HIST221C - New Hampshire History New Hampshire History is a general survey of New Hampshire's past, from prehistoric periods to the present. The course will be chronological in nature, with emphasis on certain key topics such as immigration and ethnicity, rural development, urban and industrial growth, tourism, environmental changes, and the evolution of government. Students will not simply be exposed to major events and personalities in New Hampshire history, but they will explore ways that people removed from us in time have made their living upon the land we call New Hampshire. In addition, students will use state and local resources to better understand the very nature of history and ways that the study of history provides a better appreciation of ourselves and the world in which we live.
