Course Description
ORTH109MC - Introduction to Orthopaedics Introduces the world of orthopaedics. Students will get an in-depth look into diverse orthopaedic settings and learn appropriate social skills and how to communicate mindfully and effectively with orthopaedic surgeons, patients, and colleagues. Throughout the course, students will be encouraged and given the opportunity to engage in regular contemplative practices such as mindfulness meditation. Professional skills with a focus on self-care, time management, stress relief, geriatric care, patient awareness, and ethical diversity will also be presented and evaluated.
