Course Description
HIST120C - U.S. History to 1870 This is a course that explores the critical historical events that have interacted to shape life in this country from its discovery until 1870. Included will be the discovery of America; colonization; social, political and economic development; the American Revolution; political documents which establish our form of government (Declaration of Independence/Constitution); slavery, the Civil War; and Reconstruction. Major topics are emphasized within a chronological framework and serve as a systematic introduction to United States History prior to 1870.
